:52: Help! My YSGCC has been with us since July and is about a year now. I believe that we are now going through puberty since KC is now displaying some sexual postures, regurgitation and is more vocal that before. This is my first GCC but I've had cockatiels and hand raised some baby wild birds in the past too. This bird is so different from any cockatiel I've had before. I absolutely adore her! We are not sure of the sex but I'm guessing a girl based on her sexualy postures. She lays on her belly with her butt in the air and flutters her wings and makes a low squable. Rubbing her back seems to get her into this behavior. I know the only way to know for sure is to have her sexed and I probably will eventually. Our main difficulty in this phase right now is BED TIME! Its turned into a nightmare! She used to go to bed in the living room with a few squabbles of noise here and there but reminding her by saying nicely while she was covered "bed time, nighty night" used to coaks her to sleep. We stay up and watch tv in the living room but cover her with a dark sheet. A little over a week ago she started to REALLY argue with us over bed time so we started putting her in our bed room where it was quieter at night and this was working fine until recently and now she squeals and carries on for over an hour in there and at random movents throught the night, like 3am and 6am. We need some peace as our home is small and there is no ability to get away from her noise. She gets LOTS of out of cage time and attention. Anyone have any suggestions PLEASE HELP US!!!
