So my sun conure Orion has never really been one to use cozy bird homes.
He likes to sleep with one foot on his perch and one foot holding a toy while cuddling it. But he had an accident with that toy (It was a hanging rope toy and he got tangled in it) So I've removed the toy he would cuddle with and put in the plush nest home where that used to be and he just won't go inside it. He's stuck his head in there, he's got on top of it, chewed on the chains, so he's not afraid of it. I've put treats inside, I've put my own hand inside a bunch. He's gotten in cardboard boxes with a similar sized opening plenty of times. I just don't know why he won't even try going inside it.
It gets really cold where I live, I thought it would be nice for him. But he's been really irritable and he's having a hard time sleeping, because he wants something (his rope toy in particular) to cuddle and he won't give this a chance. ... (he's been cuddling with a bell, It's a bit ridiculous.)

If anyone has any advice on how to make the plush home more inviting, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

If your bird had an accident with a rope toy, he will probably also have one with the loose threads on that plush hut. Also, when birds chew on those huts fibers of the fur can build up inside of their crop and cause health problems later on. You should find him a toy that is made with natural materials that he can chew on and hang on to safetly.
