Hi All,

I am new to the forum. I have a Yellow sided conure which is 4 months old. 3 days back I got a Crimson bellied conure which is 5 weeks old. I got it from a place where the city is hot and humidity and I live in a place where it is not humid. Yesterday we noticed that CBC is having running nose and sneezing too much at least 5 - 6 in 2 hours

The nose discharges are clear and watery. Other than the nose discharge and sneezing the bird don’t have any problem it eats well in the spoon (I am not feeding with syringe )

Need help should I be worried as this a new bird will it have bird flu ? Or just a common cold due to humidity change ? Or due to spoon feeding will that food or dust went to his sinus? Or any other problem?

Do you have access to an avian vet? None of the forum members are qualified to give medical advice and we generally bring our birds to the vet when they're sick.

In the US, ethical breeders don't sell unweaned baby birds to the public because handfeedung is difficult, risky and often the baby bird dies when it inhales formula. Spoon feeding is safer than syringe feeding but can still result in aspiration and death.

Your baby bird needs immediate medical attention. It may have aspirated food or t may have a serious infection that uourvorher bird may catch too.

Birds don't get the common cold like humans do. A change in humidity won't cause a bird to get sick like that. Home remedies will probably be useless or worse. You could try calling the breeder for advice. Hopefully they will know how to treat the baby's illness. Unfortunately, irresponsible breeders who sell unweaned babies are just as irresponsible when the baby has a problem after being sold.
