Umbrella Cockatoo- 15? years old..I think?
Does anyone have an iron and/or ironing board that is ptfe/ptfoa/Teflon free?

I really want to buy both items, but I don't want to have to call 1000 companies to verify. If anyone has already done the legwork, or is certain of a brand (+model number) I would be VERY PLEASED :)

Buy budget? - the cheap ones are usually completely uncoated afaik.
You can get covers for you ironingboard that are just cloth with a layer of aluminium on the inside (isolation and heatreflection)
but I'm in Europe/ NL -- verry different rules apply ;)

You can iron on any old flat surface, so you don't really need a seperate board- just put a layer in between your ironing and said flat surface to prevent burns/ melt-downs. Then you can pick your material (cotton of even wool) and not worry about anything.
I used a few big beachtowels for years.

Or just don't iron at all ;)
I only do it for very important occasions (funerals and x-massparties mostly), for the rest: fold really well and just put it in the cupboard!

People still iron? I only remember my grandmother doing that lol.

If you can't find a safe iron you could always drop them off at a laundry service or dry cleaner I guess.

WAIT...how do you not iron?

I feel like many of my outfits could dry to a crisp in the dryer and they would still need to be ironed. I want to know your secret...

I don't know, I just throw everything in the dryer and it comes out fine lol. We mostly where casual clothes though like jeans and cotton t-shirts, but even stuff like dress shirts and slacks come out wrinkle free as long as I take it out of the dryer right away and hang it up. They don't have that fresh, starched ironed look of course, but they come out good enough to get away with it.

I just wear the clothes, wrinkles and all! My body heat will naturally iron them out haha.

There are non PTFE irons, but there are less of them these days. I'm afraid I don't know of a specific one.

Rowenta makes irons that have plain stainless bottoms.
Not sure if anything else inside is Teflon/PTFE though.
Check BedBath and Beyond. they have a good selection and look for coupons.

I never thought of this and iron my clothes in the kitchen with enzo. She knows it's another hot thing and is happy to go to her cage. Maybe I should just iron in another room.

For those that don't iron, scruffy gits;)
