Help identifing a bird

Wasn't sure which thing to post this under, so I thought that I'd take a chance here. My mom has this bird that I can't seem to figure out what it is. I think that it might be a Bourke's Parrot, but I'm not sure. If anyone can help it would be great. Thanks.

You're right a Bourke's parakeet! Australian grass parakeet species. My mom has a rosy (pink) mutation.

How did your mom come to have this bird? What is the story?

It was given to here by a friend in 1998 or 1999. The prior owner had her for at least 5 years. They went to another country to help out and mom has owner it the entire time. According to my mom, this little thing has outlived several others that she had.
