- Peach-faced lovebirds: Derrick and Delilah, and Morris (girl) and Dave. Cockatiels: Earl (pied) and Pearl (pearled). Blue Sided Green Cheek Conure: Ducky. A violet pair and a rainbow pair of Budgies.
Hi! I'm new to the forum. My name is Sarah, I got my first pair of lovebirds, Derrick and Delilah about two years ago. I was immediately hooked on the whole bird experiance. When they started breeding they had only one chick in the nest, this chick I looked after, I had to put him to bed at night because he wasn't allowed back into the nestbox so I kept him in the nightbox on the side of the aviary.I thought he was a boy then so I named him Morris. When he was sexed I was told he was a girl! I then swapped the next clutch of chicks for a male friend for her, Dave. I hope to start breeding them soon as Dave is a complete different colour so the chicks should be very pretty! For my birthday this year I got Earl and Pearl my cockatiels. I hope to start breeding them in the spring so any tips would be very helpful! Also for my birthday I got a pair of green-cheeked conures to hand-raise, and then after they went back to the pet shop and were sold, I was given another pair that were older and needed taming. So I'm in the process of teaching them that sitting on my hand is a good thing!
