Hi my name is janet and my daughter, aimee, is mom to tucker, a 9 month old sun conure with quite a lot of energy.

Aimee had a cockatiel named Zeke who died this past January. Zeke (was told she was a boy) was almost 18 when she died and we're still trying to get over the loss of this precious bird. Tucker is helping us along nicely.

We sure would like to hear from others who have these funny, loud and messy birds. We read alot and hope we're doing the right thing. (Aimee is a RN and works nights so Tucker and I have bonded very nicely).

I look forward to hearing about your pets!!

Welcome to the Parrot Forum. Sun Conures could be hands down the most birds out there. However with all that beauty comes the noise factor. Try not to spoil your bird by having it on your shoulder all the time. Allow it to have plenty of independent time while playing. Do not confine it in it's cage as well. Hopefully this will help curb the noise factor. Enjoy your beautiful bird btw in a year once it gets beautiful colors you will love your bird even more.
