Just picked up Henry and brought him home! The vet cannot see him until the 10th of this next month so his former owners are not charging me until the vet gives the go a head! On the way to my house he kept saying "Hello Daddy! Hello!" cutest thing ever! Now that we are home he is really quite, but does not want to go into his cage, just wants to sit on the top and check everything out! He wont step up on me either, but I take no offense since he is in a new place. I will take some pictures tonight and keep you updated! The old owner tried to give him a candy bar before he left, even though I told him they were poison. So I reminded him that it wasn't a good idea. The guy seemed really upset when he left Henry here, so I know he did care for him, just wasnt educated in the right way. So now my journey begins! Pray for me! lol

I think maybe you should keep calling the vets office to see if someone cancels , this way you can get him in sooner.
Given the fact that all this bird got was junk to eat its whole life , and now being under stress because of a big life change , things can go wrong quickly.
Just a thought.

The vet is going to call if any spots come up:) Henry is terrified of me now though. He hides in the back of the cage and won't come to me at all. The weird thing is two of my friends stopped by and he went straight to them and jump on their arms. Kinda hurt my feelings lol. Is he mad at me for taking him from his home? Hopefully he will trust me again.:(

Wow, that's a long time to wait for the vet. I think I would call again and say you think it's an emergency due to the bird eating candy bars. He probably is poisoned to some extent.

I'm sure it won't take Henry long to realize you are helping him, and he will begin to trust you.

I'm glad the owners let you take him without any payments for now... I think it shows they are genuine...

I'm a bit afraid of the vet visit, because of his feathers... I had hoped Pedro would come online and offer some wisdom.

Wishing you the best of luck...
