Hello Everyone!

I am new here and am hoping to enjoy the benefits of having friends that also have a love and passion for our fine feathered family members!

I have rescued several birds and am still doing what I can do to save these birds from a life that they do deserve, and to put them in loving, caring situations and forever loving family.

I have 2 Nanday Conures, 1 cockatiel and am getting two military macaws today.

I love my birds and consider them to be my children also. They are my passion and they also have a great way in helping me to enjoy life and to laugh and smile :)

I cant wait to meet more of you and gain more friends.

SO HELLO AND NICE TO BE HERE WITH EVERYONE!

Hello and welcome.
We love to see pictures!
From what I can gather and reading between the lines there seems to be a bit of a problem in the US. Too many birds are needing to be rehomed. Yet people are still buying birds from breeders and shops and then realising that there is more to ownership than they thought.
We had an advertising campaign in the UK a few years back "a dog is for life not just for Christmas" because so many puppies that looked like great presents were taken to shelters when their owners realised they actually had to feed and walk them.
Perhaps some similar educational publicity is needed about birds in the US. I am a great believer in education rather that legislation. You can bring in as many laws as you like but it just hits the law abiding citizens because those that don't care are just going to break the laws anyway.
I am very glad that you have taken in some waifs and strays and sorry I have been a bit serious in your first post.

Welcome to the forum!! :)

Welcome here guys :) i'm quite new myself here but i'm sure you'll find everyone here has a great heart for birds.
Good on you for giving a nice home to some unfortunate birds.
Like Spring CottageParrot said - still too many people buy birds on a whim and don't realise what they are gettign into and the birds are the ones to suffer because of their ignorance. All the best of luck to you and all your kids ;)
