Hello,

I am from Sydney, Australia and will be getting a bird soon. I hoped this forum would be a great place for info and suggestions. :) I don't have any birds at the moment but cannot wait to get another one. I really love birds and find they seem to "like me" when I play with them at pet stores and stuff. I've had a pet rainbow lorikeet and nanday conure in the past, and played with a lot of different tpyes including cockatoos and macaws, I also hope to own a green win macaw one day.

Welcome!! I'm fairly new myself but I've been finding heaps of good information so far! Feel free to ask questions and let us know how your search goes!

Welcome!!! Just remember playing with them in store with them liking you doesn't always hold up! Sometimes they can change once they move in with you!!!! Good luck finding that special bird!!!

Welcome! Lots of helpful information and great people to be found here! :)

Welcome to this forum and good luck finding the perfect bird for you

I like to think that animals and children are very good Judges of charater so if animals come over to you and feel computable with you l think you will make a great birdie mum or dad .
So welcome & good luck !

Hi there! I just joined myself -- it's nice to see another Sydneysider :)

What parrot are you looking to get? I came across a very promising looking bird store in Rosebury online awhile ago, spe******ing in hand-raised parrots. I'm yet to suss it out, but I know they've currently got a blue and gold macaw in store. Here's their website if you're interested (but I'm sure you've already got breeders lined up!):

Welcome, and good luck with the bird search, I find that the best part. I love the anticipation as you wait or decide which to bring home but beware you know what they say, once you pop on one you can't stop!

Hi & welcome. A green wing macaw they are very beautiful but alas very few of them in Australia. A friend of mine has been looking for one for a number of years & had to settle for a Blue & Gold.

Good Luck in your search. But in the mean time do as much research as possible & educate yourself on parrot behavior.
