Hi All,

My name is Lubos and I have two cockatoos (lesser Sulphur-crested and citron-crested) for last 6 years and we live in Dublin/Ireland in Europe. After initial baby struggles such as biting, flying into a window, plucking, first egg, eating pellets refusal etc. we seem to have settled down quite well. I hope to find some good tips on this forum.

Btw. if there are any Irish members here I have plenty of toys to give away for free as my birds won't play with them anymore. Played a lot with them as babies but won't anymore. Toys such as rings of fortune, treasure-chest, foraging towers, see-saws, parrot stand below are available for pick up.(https://guideimg.alibaba.com/images...an-grey-playstand-climber-pearch_7336746.jpeg) etc.

Welcome to the Parrot Forums! If you haven't found the Too Forum, please take a look. There are a whole bunch of 'Too' members here.

I'm an Amazon snob, but Too people keep putting there Toos on me. I think they are trying to convert me, but those dark eyes, yaaa those dark eyes. Anyway, you will quickly find a ton of like minded members here. Have Fun!!!

Regarding others from Ireland, there are some members, so check around and you will likely find them. Also, check-out the DYI Forum, you are likely to find some ideas in converting what you have into something new for your Toos!

Now that you have provided the type of Parrots you have and where in this huge World you are; If you find you like it here, you may want to add that information to your information. But not until you are certain you like it here! The only reason! If you need timely help, it may help others know from a time zone stand point. But, its not required to enjoy the Forums!

Welcome to the forums, Lubos! Nice pair of birds you have! I also have a Citron and find them to be very entertaining and fairly good talkers for a cockatoo.

Thanks for your kind offer of toy donation, hope somebody will make good use of them! Or, as Sailboat suggests, repurpose them into a more age-appropriate toy! Both of yours are excellent destroyers!!

Thanks a lot for the welcoming messages. I thought I'd get a notifications in my private email so wasn't aware that some of you replied until I checked the forum today. My timezone is GMT - Western European Time so won't be online when most of the US members are. My toos loved the foraging toys which are all made out of hard plastic so not sure how these could be converted but I'll search for some options although since I have two toos, all toys were bought in pairs so I have a large IKEA bag full of these toys. Funny how the parrots just switch - they are into chewy toys now, they could crack on pasta whole day. My toos are around 6 years old - never got any hatch certificate so can't be 100% sure but I assume I got them after weaning. One thing is right - they are very lively, mainly the citron one, he's male (although called Chloe since we've been told it's a female) and he likes to jump around and sing (well, in his own way) and of course cuddle (like all toos). Jackie is female, way more independent and also tensed but always get hypnotized by music on TV. I attached one pic although they are not the biggest fans of each other.

Nice pic, they are beautiful. The lighter eye color of a female vs coal-black of the male is a general way to determine identity. But there are exceptions!!

I assume Jackie and Chloe at least tolerate each other?

Hi Scott,

They can tolerate each other but still under supervision. I have day and night cages for them split with a persplex divider so they can't beak wrestle or bite their toes off. Occasionally they wrestle while out of the cage but when I'm not in the room then they go back to the cage to own space so I believe that's a simple attention seeking. Jackie, the female, tries to dominate Chloe by blocking off the entrance to his part of the cage or even eating his food even though is quite smaller. I assume that Jackie wasn't hand-reared.
