Hey Folks!

My name is Stephen and i am from the Dallas area. I recently became a parent to a 16 day old Blue and Gold Macaw. He/she will be with the breeder until fully weaned and fledged, however the breeder has let me come over almost every day to watch as he feeds and everything else. He has also let me bond with his 4 blue and golds, scarlet, and African Grey.

I work in technology, newly married (if 2 years is new) and recently moved into our first house.

I am looking forward to meeting with you all! Any other Dallasites?

Hello and welcome to the forums! Congratulations, a baby B&G, that's great! We'll need lots and lots of photos!

Thanks so much! I am taking pictures every time I see him/her, and the breeder is documenting progress as well.

hey Stephen, welcome to the forum.

Welcome Stephen! There's lots of folks here that live in Texas. I live in Houston.

Adorable B & G!

Welcome to another Texan. It's a great parrot-loving state! And kudos to your breeder for keeping that baby until it's fully weaned and allowing him/her to fledge. Not many do. You're fortunate your baby is getting a good start in life. Can't wait to hear more about your baby.

Hi, welcome to the forum....and GO COWBOYS!

You meant NINERS? Didn't you?! :D (On second thought, Jed York just screwed up that team for the second time since he got it away from his brother in law... We're doomed!)

San Antonio here... and a macaw fan from way back.

No! Weezerj meant "Go Chargers!"

Hi Stephen,

Welcome to you and your lil Mac... Well soon to be a Big Mac... Haha, look forward to seeing pictures.

A word of advise, since the breeder is allowing you to spend time with your new baby look into a harness (aviator) it's your decision, but if you teach this baby to accept it when it's young you will be so glad you did. :D

You must have read my mind! I was thinking how soon should I ask the breeder to introduce the harness and carrier?
