Green Cheek conure - 4 mos. old
Hi, My name is Heather. I just joined the forum. My husband surprised me with a green cheek conure about two weeks ago. I had fallen in love with her at the pet store. Her name is Molly and she is 4 months old. She has been a wonderful addition to our family. So, I am a stay at home mom to six humans, two dogs and now one green cheek.

I haven't had a bird for 20 years and I have missed it ever since. My first bird was a graduation present from my grandma. He was a Quaker named Sinbad. At the time I thought it was a crazy gift, but I fell in love with him. Sadly, I had to give him up because I had no time to spend with him and he was lonely. There's been a void in my heart ever since.

So that's some of my story. I'm looking forward to learning a lot from you fellow bird lovers! Glad to be here.

Hello Heather and welcome from Alberta, Canada!

Yes, Molly is a great kisser! And obviously, Vivian has gotten over her initial fear of her. My oldest daughter learned the hard way that Molly has to be in the mood for kissing, though. Otherwise you get a fat lip instead.

Well, if she's not she squawks, and then will bite if you get to close. If she is, she makes kissy noises and leans in.

Hello and welcome Heather and Molly! You have a couple of very lovely girls there. I'm glad Vivian got over her initial fear of Molly. What part of Colorado are you from? We're in the Springs right now.

Welcome Heather :) beautiful pictures! It seems unusual to be gifted a bird twice in your life - lucky you! :D Lots of Green Cheeks here on the forum too!

Thank you, I'm glad to have found this forum. I suppose you are right about that. Although, this time we did pick each other before my husband gifted her. I still consider myself very lucky.

I'm pretty sure my golden retriever thinks she's a snack. But my older dog keeps her distance. She's not sure what to think, but she knows it's something that belongs to mom. Molly is never out of her cage unsupervised so I'm not worried about the dogs getting her.

Welcome to the forum! Green cheeks are excellent companions. You're going to have a lot of fun! :)
