Hi everyone!

I have a lot of experience with various grass parakeets, songbirds, and doves. However, I am relatively new to parrots, so I need some advice. :) Recently acquired a beautiful Yellow Sided Green Cheek about 2 months ago. Harriette is very friendly but would rather be exploring than hang out with me (can't blame her, I'm a tad boring). I know I've only had her for a short period so I'm going to assume she isn't really bonded to me yet. I've been teaching her target training and she is now a pro at it...
So my question is, are there any games or fun things I can do with my bird to keep her entertained? :D

Ohh I just got a yellow sided green cheek conure also. Mine likes to hang out with me on my shoulder instead of my hand, but will step up just fine. He liked to just spend time on me as i do things around the house so far we dont really have any games yet either so i will be following this thread to see what ideas other parronts have. I have seen people playing peek-a-boo with their parrots or teaching them tricks like spin in circles or hang like a bat - maybe training could be like a game?

ps: post pictures! :)

Hey Ann!
My GCC's hatch date is also in October! It seems like our babies are quite similar. Have you seen this video?
It's a cute idea for a trick!
Attached is a pic of my baby being snuggly. :)

Oh that's awesome! Your baby is just too cute! Looks like she has a lot of yellow :) She looks so comfortable laying on you like that! I'm jealous! Pumpkin only wants to sit on my shoulder so far. But we have started to learn "dead birdie" where he will lay on his back in my hand. That basketball game looks cute also and I want to teach him to wave haha I just love his little feet!!

Thank you! Trust me, I caught her in a rare moment! She's usually a loooot more busy. Those are super cute ideas, let me know how it goes. :)

Oh haha well a rare moment it still a moment. :) It so cute how busy they always are, right? Pumpkin always has things to do and places to see! It's like the whole world is an adventure and a new awesome discovery is waiting around every corner. They are just so full of life and curious! :)
