Parrots
Green Cheeked Conure
(Lulu)
I recently purchased a green cheeked conure. She is 6mos old. I also own two dogs and a cat. Sorry if I ask too many questions but I already love my little girl and want to be the best mom ever to her! I can tell you how to raise many animals but not birds, since I've had just about everything else.
I am really glad I found this forum. I have already had a couple of questions answered.

Hiya, that is me to and I know I have asked question after question on here in the past month or so from deciding on a breed to all the other details and she isn't even here yet.

I have had a lot of pets and feel somewhat knowledgeable but Parrots have proved to be a whole new world to me.

I love it on here and everyone has been so nice to me. Congrats on your girl and welcome :)

Welcome! This is an excellent forum and you can never ask too many questions. I have noticed there are a lot of conure owners here, so I'm sure you'll get some great advice. :)

Greetings to you and family/flock k. I have a GCC also and found the best way to get through his many moods and biting was to understand what their needs are. Now that I understand he wants all my attention and for me not to pay attention to other animals I can manage him much better. He thinks he is the boss, but he is not. Just give your little featherd girl all the love and play you can manage without spoiling too much. Also it is important to learn to read the body language. When a bite is imminent the feathers on the head will be erect. It is at that time I distract him with something and it seems to work.

Spiritbird is totally right! Conures do get jealous of the other animals and want to run the house (but won't pay for it unfortunately!). Welcome to the forum and enjoy your new baby!
