My umbrella cockatoo (Cameo), that I rescued from a local aviary rescue service, is just a joy to have. She is very demanding of my time but I enjoy her with me as much as possible. I do work so when I am not in my office (Home) she becomes very noisy until I get home.
Cameo is becoming friendlier with my wife so her tantrums are getting fewer and shorter. So I am hoping this will eventually disappear.
Wisconsin weather is not very easy on the tropical birds. Feathers and skin dry out and I think they get a bit claustrophobic just like we. With the warm spring weather we are having, Cameo likes to come out on our patio with me and share a beverage. Just water for Cameo but she doesn`t know the difference. And if the neighbors come over she`ll jump right in the conversations with something. Usually saying "Hello I`m Cameo" or "I`m a pretty girl" She always becomes the center of attention and she seems to love it.
Being 63 and my kids grown and gone, Cameo has added a lot of fun in the house. But I think I will have to put Cameo to work the way she waistes her food. Don`t like all the waist.
Well I hope to share ideas and stories with the group.
