Hi All,

I'm entirely new to this portal. I have a few queries related to my Sun conure chick. can someone please help me to clarify those.

1. How old is my Sun Conure Chick?
2. How many days need to hand-feed to self eat fruits.?
3. can anyone share the growth curve of Sun conure chick for first 2months.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Deviprasad

We just had to help someone this same situation with someone else that bought a very young 5 week old conure, it did not live because despite trying to help the owner who was far too inexperienced to taking in such a fragile baby. We do not recommend buying a baby like this suffer because you clearly don't know at all what you're doing with the seriously basic questions you asked.

If you are relying on a parrot forum to teach you how to keep your baby alive and how to feed it, you are doing it all wrong. You need to be letting the breeder finish weaning your baby so you don't have to worry or ask us about this.

Please read this link. (read Elboy's reply below I forgot to include it)

To answer your questions...

1. Your breeder that you bought this chick from should've been able to tell you this information. But it looks 3-5 weeks old.

2. Babies this age need formula 4 times a day at 10% body weight. Formula should be no cooler than 100 degrees F.

3. Can't help wih this as i only breed cockatiels.

Welcome to you and your young Sun Conure, Deviprasad!

I cannot state the age for certain, but definitely young. I would urge you to read the linked thread "So you bought an unweaned baby" as it may save its life. Hand feeding has many risks, it is a job best left to the breeder assuming they are competent.
