Does anyone else's parrot scratch his head with toys? My blue front pulls little pieces off his hanging toys and forms them into head scratchers. Then he holds them in his foot and scratches small circles on his head and face. It's the cutest thing. He switches it from side to side to get both the left and right. So smart!

I was watching a sun conure at pet smart under a toy that he was moving back and forth with to get head scratched. You could call that using a toy as a tool to scratch. Yes it is cute but I just wanted to scratch his head with my fingers but could not.

I have a chain with a bell, attached on Mishka's playpen.
After a good swing, and workout, LoL Mishka stands on the perch, hits the bell with her claw, then lowers her head, to get a soft continuous knock on the head from the bell.
In her cage hanging from a chain, is a plastic ice-cream spoon, she sits and knocks the spoon for ages, letting it "Koppie Krappie" (scratch the head) for ages.

Birds have such great imaginations

That sure is a smart bird, it is so cool, when you see the claws handling the object to give themselves lovies :D
