One thing about Mango is that he does not enjoy head scratches. I never had a bird that didn't like these and its cute when the beg for one.

Anyway I can show Mango what he is missing out on without him trying to run away?

My grey is not one who loves to be touched. When he wants a head scratch he lets me know by putting his head down, but sometimes he will bite me (lightly) when he's done. I'm trying to teach him not to do that. LOL! Is he hand shy? Can you touch him normally?

He doesn't like to be petted but he steps up every time I put my hands in the cage. He is very happy when I take him out but does not want to be petted or head scratches.

Marley doesn't like it either during the day....LOL, not so much anyway.
But she would even lower her head to me late at night before going to sleep. So try to do it later in a day.....

Some birds are just not touchy feely. I would try torrap's suggestions of trying at night. Good luck!

Like Blanca said- some are just not touchy feely, or it'll just take time. I would always ask Jackie "can I scratch your head??" and wiggle my fingers like I was scratching and if he bowed his head then I could give scritches, but it was always on his terms.
