i was wondering as we all rub nut's head differently

my man tends to rub his finger over top of her head and sides of her head

i rub against the feathers, under the feathers from neck to beak, plus either side of her beak, and the top and cheeks if she is looking like she is enjoying it and rub her neck feathers between my fingers, she'll even let me stroke her throat (at times)

my son does a nervous rub over top of her head, as he never reads her right an normally gets a nip for his troubles

so i was wondering how does everyone pet there bird? i do a little jesture now as well as saying do you want a head rub?

I hold my finger in front of my cockatiels face and he stares at it, and then he'll bend his head down so I can scratch his neck. And I usually try to get his pinnies out but sometimes it hurts . He'll give me a little squawk and then turn his head so I can rub somewhere else.

Yep that's probably it! Have you ever parted her feathers to look? I heard they itch but I don't know for sure lol. It probably feels good to have them rubbed :). If you roll them in your fingers a little, the outside should come off and she'll feel much better! I guess it's like having a chunk of your hair gelled into a spike all the way down to your scalp. Probably very uncomfortable :p.
