Wifey thought Greybeard might need to see the vet, as he was coughing. Then she realized his cough was exactly like mine. . :)

Haha, yep. When a parrot is really coughing it won't sound much like a person coughing. When a parrot sounds like a person coughing it's most likely a copy cough :)

Oh man, I just wanna snuggle him! What a character! Had me cracking up again over the cough. Sounds like me on a BAD day, lol.

The best part is how they "answer" when you talk to them, isn't it? SO smart, especially when they make perfect sense.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the clips of your birds. :)

Haha thats so adorable!! I love your videos :)

Keep the videos coming! I am a HUGE Salsa fan! (I think I'll start a club)LOL So cute!

Thanks everyone! I'm glad to know that Salsa has some fans. I just wish I could capture so many other things that he does and says as well - I don't have a webcam (yet).

One instance last night is an example of a time I wish I'd had video rolling. Zaf was perched on the door of his cage, which isn't far from where I had the playgym where Salsa was hanging out. Well, Salsa decided to hang off the side of the playgym and stretch his body, neck and head WAY over toward Zaf's cage door as if to try and reach Zaf with the tip of his beak. Then while in that stretched out position and while staring squarely at Zaf's face, what does Salsa do next? He does a HUGE BURP at Zaf! He did this 2 or 3 times and it was clearly intended to antagonize/provoke Zaf. I'm fairly sure it was in retaliation for their fight - and especially for Zaf's hard pecks to Salsa's head - the other day, which you may have viewed in one of my videos.

There are just so many choice things like that which I'm seldom prepared to record. I guess that's typical with parrots though. After all, the priority is NOT shooting video; the priority is taking good care of these guys!

Very cute, loved the vid
What a charming character he is

Love the accent he talks in, and what a brilliant talker as well

We were really worried about our Grey's cough, until we remembered he (1) lived with 2 smokers, (2) lived with a little girl with asthma, and (3) could perfectly immitate my cough last winter . . .

Turns out he likes a good cough.

[But it is good to hear that a 'real bird cough' will sound different from an 'imitation human cough.']

We asked our avian vet about Sunny's persistent cough when we first got her. [middle of winter flu season and she lived with kids] and when he found out about the kids he just laughed. He said birds don't cough. Must be right. She only coughs for effect a year and a half later!
