I live in a residential area, not usually known to have HAWKS in it!

The other day,Arleen and I were outside and we saw a hawk swoop in and land in our neighbors shrubs, three feet away from the front door! We could see him/her rummaging around in the bush, then it took flight and landed on my other neighbors flag pole.

Yesterday Arleen was in the living room and heard a THUNK into our front window..she looked outside our front door and the HAWK had a sparrow in its talons. Arleen yelled HEY! YOU LET THAT SPARROW GO! and the hawk dropped the sparrow and the sparrow ran under the bush right in front of our living room window and the hawk flew off! Now I'm afraid the hawk has found a feeding ground coz where he tried to get that little sparrow we have two feeders set up and he knows lunch is just around the corner.

Across the street from us is a cemetery with a few trees in it. As I got out of the car this afternoon I just happened to look across the street, and in one tree there were TWO very large birds roosting. I hope they don't plan on hanging around here all winter knowing there is easy eats in my yard.

That sucks. I have always fed the birds, and luckily the hawks pretty much leave them alone. I suppose if that changed I'd have to stop feeding them, which would suck.
