Having Trouble Entertaining my Conure in its cage?

Hi All, I have a 10 week old Conure and he doesn't appear to be liking his cage. I have plenty of toys and stimulus in the cage itself along with plenty of water and food, but as soon as I put him back in his cage (after having something to eat) he just does laps of the floor until someone lets him out again.Is there some way I can encourage him to spend more time in his cage?

I don't know all the circumstances....but if you leave the door open will he climb out and hang out on the roof like snoopy? I sometimes put clark in his cage but leave the door open, so long as he has the option he seams happy about it. And plays inside most the time.
