I felt really bad when Kiwi tipped his new perch yesterday because I (stupidly) didn't check for how safe it would be to have it on a stand vs. hanging and within reach. Thankfully Petsmart had this birdcage stand in stock, and it is absolutely perfect!!! It's rated for up to 40lbs, so I think it will be ideal for this lightweight perch, even if Kiwi is pulling and swinging on it! I tested it pretty thoroughly last night myself to see how hard it would be to tip and found it was pretty stable. Tempted him over this morning (before I took these pics, I was right there to be sure it was stable) with a treat and he went back and forth no problem. Made squeals of joy because he could swing on it! Used another treat so I could take pics;). As you can see, no problems traversing back and forth. Very pleased!

This is what I had the perch on, which was really a stupid idea the more I think about it:

These stands are great for lightweight swings! I think they'd be cool for a big orbital too if you can't hang one from the ceiling. The brand I got was "Prevue Hendrix".

I love it! So much better than the drum it was on before LOL! They're really great for hanging anything. Boings, orbitals, jolly balls, swings, large toys, etc.

Kiwi is plenty spoiled and has more than enough stuff for a single bird:rolleyes: But I couldn't help but think how awesome (and affordable) it would be to set up several of these in multi-bird homes so everyone could have their own 'area' (I know how pricey actual play gyms can be:eek:) OR just have 2 or 3 with different things hanging off each one so everyone can play on a variety of things:D I could see them being a affordable and fun addition to big bird rooms!
