Jenday Conure
Just a quick question about handfeeding. I've had my Jenday for about a week and half and she turns 3 months old today. When I got her I was taught how to handfeed her and was told by the store owner that I should keep handfeeding her for at least a month to help with the bonding process. Everything I have read is that conures should be completely weaned at three months. Is there any danger to continue handfeeding after three months? She already eats pelleted food and seeds along with fruits and vegetables and she was only taking about 6 CC's of formula anyway. Any help is appreciated.

If she's eating well on her own there is no need to hand feed.

There isn't any appreciable danger to continuing if it's done properly and you don't give her too much - but there really is no need for it at all. Generally they start resisting, and wrestling her to get her to eat is hardly good for bonding.

So, if she's eating well on her own then there is no reason to hand feed.
