Hahn's or Severe?

What are the main differences, between a Hahn and a noble macaw? I tried looking it up, but there is so much confusion, and lack of info

Hahns and Noble are the same species, different subspecies.

Yours is a hahns but you never know, it could have some noble in it as the subspecies readily hybridize. You will find your bub will quite possibly lose some weight after fledgling too, though he is not outside the range of a normal hahns as he is now. My fully flighted Hahns is 150g.

Nobles are slightly larger than hahns and have a predominantly horn coloured upper mandible. They are the same species though so variation between the two exists (made worse by breeders who hybridize the subspecies). That is probably all you are after but if you want more just ask :) Also don't judge yours on his mandible as it is now. All bubs have the lighter coloured beak but this will darken with age.

I had a Noble macaw who lived to be almost 18 years old. Mihijo was not cross bred with a Hahn's so he was pure Noble macaw. He weighted between 205 and 210 grams. I use to fuss that he was over weight because I kept reading the weight for Noble macaws was 180 but the doctor always told me his weight was fine.

I now have a rescue Noble macaw (for two more days) and he weighs in around 165 grams. He is noticeably smaller than my Mihijo was and I suspect highly he is a cross bred between the Noble and Hahn's.

Do you know the weight of your mini macaw baby? What color is the beak coming in as. It is very dark almost black or do you see some lighter horn color in it?

My experience with the two subspecies is the Noble is more laid back, less to be nippy, very friendly, easily learns tricks and talks well and weathered hormonal seasons very well. The Hahn's can be a little bit more high strung and can be a bit nippy as well. Both of them are very affectionate and intelligent and have a bit of narcissism as all parrots do.
