Hi I am getting a hahns macaw in about a months time and so excited, would like to chat to people who has also hahns macaws.

I recently got a Hahn's Macaw. His name is Kero. He's young but very chatty. I'm not really sure what he's saying just yet. He does say Hi and Out though.
He's a very sweet boy and I'm definately in love.

My Hans Macaw was Charlie... and he's not a people person.
He's a one person bird; I could handle him alright but I ended up giving him to my sister... as he fell in love xP.
He was a 9 year old bird with several issues; I adopted him because I wanted him out of the home he was in.

A well-socialized bird doesnt have to be a one person bird. Hahnzel loves my wife, my son and myself. And he bites all three of us equally.

Charlie.
He was Abused; hates men and has an aggression problem with anyone that isn't 'his'.
He protects my sister who is better with larger birds than I am... between the two of us we've gotten him to a point where he is actually happy. But due to the severe abuse and neglect of the first 9 years of his life... he most likely will never be that trusting of people.
it was a sad situation, but his life is better now and thats all that matters.
If he wants to be a one person bird he can be, as long as he keeps being his funny quirky self.
All in all though?
They are absolutely amazing birds. One day... I'll have more luck with another.
