Hahns Macaw,daughter is so excited

Well, my daughter's sweet sixteen has finially come to pass and she was told she is getting a Hahns macaw. She was thrilled to death, she had no clue we had a deposit on him/her since the beginning of March. He will be coming home the beginning of July. We were able to print out a pic and place it in her card for her birthday. I think we are all set, research and reading out the wazoo, hands on time with other birds to make sure she is confident enough to handle her own, two cages, a huge daytime cage and a 32"x23x46 sleep cage in a quiet room. Food, treats, various perches, boings and toys out the yin yang. The only thing left, calling the avian vet to set the check up appointment.

Not sure on the sex, we will be getting it dna'd to verify if it is a male or female. It's name will be Zazu. We are major animal lovers/owners here, she asked for small/medium parrot for the last year, and we had actually been considering one for quite sometime prior to that.

Congratulations on your new addition !!! You guys sound like great pet owners. All too often, people decide to get birds, or other pets, for a birthday present without realizing that its not just a present, its a living creature. I'm so glad that you guys are not those people, and will provide a wonderful home for your new bird. Your daughter must be thrilled and I'm sure they will great friends.
