Sidney really has his tail feathers in a snit tonight. Growling and squealing for no reason that I can fathom. He shared my dinner, had a bit of a scritch then he started getting freaky. Squeal and flying for no reason then squeal some more when he lands. He was really stiff when I picked him up. Almost like there was a hawk sitting on the window sill glaring at him or something. Didn't like the way he was behaving so I put him in his home where the antics continued and I got a video of it.

He seems a little better now and is sitting on his perch preening away. But earlier he was really hurting my ears enough that I was about to put everyone to bed and turn out the lights. They sure can have their moments....

Silly Sidney :). I've never heard a Poi make that sound. I always love hearing about Sidney's antics. He's a beautiful bird!

I think it is his attempt at a threatening growl. He does it occasionally if there is something he does not like. But it sounds more comical than anything. I could sure do without the squealing, though. It is wickedly hard on the ears.

Neither of my sennies make that sound. They both make an actual growl. However, they both do make the ear piercing whistle.
