Parrots
-no parrots yet-
I do have two cats -Riply & Nano bites-
four snakes- china, dip & stick, and Grand Chahee-
I work with animals, I have always BEEN around animals, this little girl is 10 years younger then I am and is everyones favorate, and really dosent know what shes doing.

a few days ago I was getting a animal out of night drop and after two tries I Looked at the dog and my gut told me not to mess with him. so I went out and told the superviser that the dog may need to be polled by a officer.

a few minuets later the little girl came by and said "That dog Really ISNT friendly!"

.... WELLL DUH... ** I had to walk away, but I really wanted to ask her if she THOUGHT I was lieing. I think I have great animal instincts.

I mean, HOW hard is it to look at an animal and know how much you can get away with doing something around it? anyway I have many stories like this.. and I may be leaving my job sometime soon. they approched the girl with a job for the front (I dont want, it but Ive been there longer then she has) she took it without me ever Knowing about it, .....

I just want to have equil oppertunity, I want the chance to decline...

Am I being silly for being upset? is leaving this job (that I love, but fustrates me so much) ....

am I being stupid? I cant talk to anyone, everyone at my job just shrugs it off, or laughs. my family Thinks I am being stupid for staying so long... I can talk to anyone without them judging me. I Am good with animals, I can catch kittens and tame them in just a few hours. noone else has done that there and the impressin I get from them is that they consider me stupid... am I for putting up with their crap?

I'd leave, seem like half the staff doesn't know what they are doing. Anyways, hope you don't let them get to you to much, if anything you seem a bit overqualified :)

i'd leave or reduce your hours drastically, its there loss

i fully understand when ppl do not follow your judgements, i have that at work, in my case its a waste of my time an efforts, as i am dealing with challenging behaviour, in your case she is lookin at a possible loss of limbs (ok fingers perhaps lol)

i do not think she thought you was lying, she just thought she could do better, and in my experiance them kinda, *oh look how good i am kinda ppl don't get far in life as as in time there idiocy will become apparent. also if she is more childlike, ppl will have a tendancy to treat her as one

so my rule of thumb is always, patiance, cos its dam funny when they mess up! and they often will do

I have been in many similar situations and I finally had to take a look at how I come across to people. It doesn't matter that I'm the most qualified, dedicated, etc. if that's not the persona other people are picking up. A very honest & good supervisor pointed out many things that were giving others bad impressions.
I'm not a people person & have spent my life working with animals. My dislike/distrust for the human race sometimes shows through. Maybe you are doing something inadvertently that is giving your superiors a wrong impression? Maybe them not offering you the front job (that you didn't want) was because they knew you didn't want it. I'd rather work behind the scenes then be out front with a fake smile pasted on. Just something to consider.

My superviser ... well she dosent like me, and as a lez, she is vary anti Man. she also has a habbit of picking slim beautiful girls to do the paperwork that also happens to be her left hand position.

I am not at all slim, and though I know im not ugly, I know I am not "pretty" either, as I am alaskan native, my entire family are more "handsome" then beautiful, I am good at my job, and good at fallowing orders, but I dont wear make up and I dont go out of my way to look pretty because I am working in dirty conditions, theres really no point.
And on top of that, our boss happens to like her VARY much, and I know she also lies to keep her position in the green with our boss. Our superviser has driven away two Vet techs, one of witch she convinced our boss that she didnt know what she was doing, and the turnover is Vary vary high.

I thought it was from the stress of the job, but I am starting to think its more the people. I can deal with putting down animals, I can deal with aggressive dogs, Ive done it, Lived with wild animals all my life. But this women.. makes me want to do things that I never had the urge to do before. (something involving a hammer, ducktape and a tarp.... or maybe rope and a anchor)

I have been there nearly two years, and ive seen 9 people come and go in JUST our department. (there might be more, but I am not sure)

Regardless of her attitude toward you, the fact that this crossed your mind give me the impression that there may be some not-so-well-hidden animosity. I don't know the situation and that animosity may be very well justified. However, in my experience, the supervisor always wins. They're supervisors for a reason - well-founded reasons or not - and the higher-ups will listen to them first, especially if there isn't any tangible evidence.

Personally, I think you need to make a truce with her if you want to keep that job. If this isn't possible, you should find something else, and the sooner the better.

But I am not a man, I am a women, and she Treats me like the men she had working for her, like total crap. I am now doing the majority of the work in the place, her Favorate spends the morning doing evals, something that she was to TEACH us ALL to learn.
IT has been six months sense that meeting, and the only person she has taught anything to is her Favorate. They gave her a raise (its apparent by the way she suddinly has so much money to do stuff with. AKA suddinly going out to rent a 1200. a month house) and Skipped me. I had been there longer, I know more, and I accually have the physical straingth to do The stuff that she cannot.

I brught this up to our boss. she took our superviser aside an they "spoke" about it, later that week, our superviser began punishing us and added a whole chitload of work onto our ALREADY big workload. cut out ANY and all breaks, said we dont have time for them. (its state law here to have 2 15 minuet breaks and one 1/2 hour payed lunch, so shes breaking the law)

if she seen us talking in the hallway, she would start yelling. But if we dont "TALK" to eachother, then we are in trouble again, because info cant get passed. she has started making up stupid rules, and only informs the people she dosent like, about them, mainly me and I have SEEN it, she dosent Tell her favorate, and SHE can contenue doing just as she always has!

The other day I was yelled at for not "Mopping" under the cages, I just gave her a blank look and said I didnt mop today, she asked me who did and I told her who did it, and she was like " oh... well.. Ill tell her..... Later" she never did. I was yelled at again yesterday and told the floor under the cages were filthy, I told her I didnt mop, that the other girl did, she gave me a long look and said I should take my turn Mopping!

I am going to do the unbelieveable, I am going to complain about her, ask for a raise, then ask for the front desk job--- then quit, cause I am not going to get any of that. I hate doing that to my coworkers because she turns into a monster when shes made to work, but I am sick of this. ive been there nearly two years and this is how I am treated?! its bull honky.

I have been an employer for 20+ people for years. I have had competent, reliable employees that turned me off for 1 reason. Spreading mayhem w/the rest of the staff. I mean keeping people angry @ each other, making sure that a slur among employees does not go unnoticed, etc. Its very difficult to work w/people day after day, without someone fanning the flames. I'm not saying that you are doing this, but offering a possible reason someone w/your gifts going unpromoted.

firstly rein your self back in! no use gettin into a state about it all as you will come across bitter

also i wont go for any job/position you don't want
have you thought other girl was offered front of house, cos she aint that brilliant at the hands on things

i've been at my work now for 7 long yrs and its really only the pass 2yrs i have relaxed more, as i won't bring work home with me and i have started telling ppl, as soon as a situation occurs how its made me feel (or as soon as an apropriate time arises)
i never spoke my mind for the main reason, i thought it would have been rude etc but honesty is best policy.
and i aint spoiling my time with my family playin scenarios around in my head, of oh i should have done this/that/other

i don't help myself as i have a strange personality, i have a tendancy to utter a sound, unexpectantly to to keep this in check i humm or sing as i work, hence why the uk is so wet lol but also i do not bond that well with ppl, it takes time for me to feel comfortable with them

but mostly work is not to be brought home, i know i have my moments, an i will forgive those there's

as long as i know i am carrying out my job to my best abilities, and to the needs of the residents, thats all i am paid for, the rest i do is cause its in my nature

This is the point I was trying to make. Because of the words you used described her at the very beginning, this seems to have become personal for you. Using that word attacks her as a person, not as a supervisor. I'm not implying that she hasn't instigated this or trying to defend her in anyway, but you asked for advice so...here you go.

This is going to be a difficult relationship to mend. Regardless of who's at fault, you're probably going to have to bend a little more if you want to stay at this job. You're going to have to make the peace offering, because it doesn't sound as if you expect one from her.

but thats just it, I Do everything I should, I do it fast, I do it without complaint, I had been happy, and tried to ignore everything she was doing to us, even though she clearly was trying to get us into trouble, I am THERE on time, every day.

I am the most reliable person there, and I love the animals, there are a lot of people who do this just to make money, I am the only one there for the animals. I Dont make money at this job, I had been at jobs where I had made money, and lots f it.

And now, I see shes starting in on the new girl. the new girl dosent deserve that, Shes great, shes fast, funny and nice, I enjoy working with her, and I think our superviser seen that today and started in on us.

again, our superviser didnt do it to anyone else... tabby has only been with us for a week and I can see her already getting fustrated, she DIDNT do anything wrong and our superviser came in and said she forgot to water... I was there, SHE didnt.. two cats just dumped the water... its like she picks someone for that day and just picks at them. in this case, the new girl is the one who gets all her focus. and it erks me cause I cant help her, I cant protect her, cause our superviser Really is a monster.

heres a good example, to give you an Idea of JUST how our superviser is.

One of the more reliable workers(who left a short time ago because she found something better) was cleaning a kennel and suffered a broken bone in her hand when a 100 pound dog slammed the door on her fingers. Our superviser did what she needed too, but in just under 40 minuets, she had a officer drive our coworker to the ER. in less then an hour, she was DONE with this worker, and even tried to get her fired cause she was going to be gone for 6 weeks.

just a few days later, our other coworker was nipped, granted it was in the neck by a small green iguana, but the scrape was minor and taken care of in just 10 minuets by a nurse, after Our superviser drove her to the ER Herself and WAITED with her for 5 hours. Because her wound was so minor, she kept getting bumped, though when she was done, they gave her 2 days off, before her normal weekend.
