So I was in the room eating dinner tonight... I was focusing on my food and momentarily didn't notice the birds.

I've said before, sometimes I'll save little bits of my dinner to share later, and I admit that often I don't give them any lol. They're quite used to it, and USUALLY what they do when I eat in front of them, is they go to their OWN bowls and start eating their own food.

Griffin my Ruppell's parrot is a little more outgoing than the others. Actually, A LOT more outgoing. :D Tonight as I took a delicious bite of my burrito, all of a sudden I felt a little bird on my shoulder! He's clipped but he can fly. He's never done that before, and I thought it was SO cute that I let him stay this time. I usually don't let him on my shoulder at all since he tends to be nippy.

So Griffin and I ate dinner together, and he proceeded to drop bits of wheat tortilla all over my clothes haha. I thought it was so adorable I had to share. :)

Way to go, Griffin! Why wait for an invitation when you can just charm your mom into sharing dinner?

Julie, that's really great! Maybe Griffin's nippiness will soon be a thing of the past.

I hope so. It's not even like a normal Poi nippiness, it's a little odd, to me it almost seems like some sort of conditioning or hyper knee-jerk reaction that he somehow picked up with the hand feeder?? Idk... Also doesn't help he's SO hyper and gets overloaded easily. It's a habit by now. I'm working with him, and he knows right from wrong, it's like he has so much energy he literally can't help it as his little body is jerking around and he can't hold still as he pecks and nips. It's very strange.

Oh yes, I thing Griffin will be expecting a nice bib on Julie and a standing invitation for dinner!! No trouble to prepare a portion for one more beak!

Lol, did he help himself to a bite of your burrito or wait for a serving to be given? Buddy likes to help himself, and make cute happy sounds. Now to see if he comes around tomorrow night!

Just be glad that he didn't do what Sidney did not long after I adopted him. Dove straight into my cereal bowl. Sploosh! Cheerios and milk all over the table, floor and me with him standing next to the bowl dripping with that surprised, tilted head look that he gets when something unexpected happens.

Ya gotta love them when they do that. It's adorable . My grey will almost always climb down off his cage at dinner time make his way to the dining
room and tap on my ankle to get my attention. I look down and say "what do you want"?? He's looking up at me and says " up up, come on come on"
my wife says that bird is really spoiled. But funny how they love burritos especially with jalapenos. He eats off my plate...I ASK IF IT'S GOOD, HE SAYS "YUM YUM". My Zon will Say " It's really Good"
