Green wing adjusting to new home

Well guys, my ten year old greenwing has already adjusted too our bird morning routine in the house and has stopped screaming and shaking. I didn't think she was going too change that fast but she's changed already it's wonderful too see her change too my flocks morning routine. She's such a smart loving bird. I would like too here others stories of their parrots adjusting too their new homes.

well I can give how quickly Rio my late GCC adjusted.

First night I "let" him out (hopped on my arm and ran out of the cage), roughly 2 days after bringing him home I let him do his thing and just thought I would go about my business letting him explore and know I wasn't after him. So I go to the shower and turn the water on. Instantly I hear flapping and he's rounded the corner to the bathroom and is sat on the shower rail observing the area, he seemed alert but relaxed so I carried on and offered him a bit of raisin as a peace offering which he happily gobbled up. Then as I'm about to get in the shower he decides it's his turn and dive bombs into the water! Now sat in the bathtub covered in water with his wings splayed out he looked perplexed as to what was happening. I took the opportunity whilst he was confused and quickly picked him up, he seemed okay with it so I wasn't too worried. I gave him a quick head rub and offered more raisin which he happily took then I placed him on the towel rail so he could see me have a shower. He sat very happily observing me, eating his raisin and rubbing his face on the fluffy towel. Once I was done he seemed compliant and stepped up for me and I brought him back to the cage. He of course sat and chilled out after that giving himself a clean. The next few days he became a little nightmare, running from my hand and reaching out to nip me. I decided to try the tip of opening the door and letting him come out on his own which he would do. Luckily he was pretty good stepping on a stick so I kept at that to move him to the cage and what-not. Then out of nowhere on the weekend, exactly a week after I got him I had him on his playtop with some toys whilst I was watching TV trying not to doze off. Out of nowhere I hear this flutter and then he's just on my hand asking for a scritch. Naturally I gave him a lot of praise and scritch and then went straight to seeing if he would do it again which he did over and over. From that moment on he was the best little guy going. learnt not to bite very quickly, had arguments with the outside birds and any time I went to leave the room I would be sure he would be on me in seconds asking for me to play with him. It was such a turn around and it was clear he chose that I was to be trusted which I think is such a key thing with parrots, once they choose you they become the best things going, constantly after your attention in whatever capacity they can have

Yes it's awesome when they trust you and there surroundings that's when the fun starts.

The Rickeybird was a sweetheart until he hit roosterhood (at about 3-4 years old)... since then, he's pressed limits and been a real challenge, but he's my love. Basically, he's flighted, fearless, untrustworthy, inconsistent, destructive, annnnnnd... loving, adoring, adorable, funny...
I think your bird is much better behaved/adjusted, so I'll do you a favor and withhold any advice! :57:

Well day two my green wing is waking up no shaking squeaking she wakes up comes out of her cage gives me a kiss goes up to the top of her cage eats and communicates back and forth with my other birds cleans herself and chills with the rest of the flock I believe she has adjusted too the good life in a week and a half.

Well my greenwing in one and a half weeks went from lowest on the flock todem pole too queen of the flock now when I handle my blue and gold she gets so jealous and screams loud enough too blow out your eardrums.
