Green Cheek Suddenly Aggressive

My Cinn. Green Cheek Conure is very sweet and loving and
only 3 months old.. I haven't had any aggression issues with her besides tonight.

I was in the living room with a few other family members, all of which she accepts, but a few moments after the house phone rang she completely FLIPPED OUT. one second she was perching on my hand the next she was continuously trying to bite me, and hard.
She usually loves pets and cuddles, so when I attempted to pet her while softly talking to her (to calm her down) she would just aim for my hand or anything else she could reach just to bite.

After a few minutes of this she started calming down and snuggling against me more than usual, almost to say "I'm sorry"

I guess the point of this forum post is to ask, did she really realize what she was doing? Was she really saying sorry? Could it have been the phone that set or off or did I miss something?

Most likely the phone upset her. Any fast or sudden movements/noises can upset birds.

And parrots are just..... parrots, and do stuff for reasons which we are incapable of appreciating. We are not prey animals; we're predators or at least predatory in nature. Could have been a reflection ton on something or a shadow or even the placement of something on a table or any number of a thousand different inputs. Such is the life of prey, where noticing things like that can mean the difference between living to see another day or the inside of somethings belly.

But unless that behaviour continues, I would not give it much mind. She's way too young for hormones to have kicked in. Have you done bite pressure training with her?

When she preens she sometimes bites a little too hard than I'd like, so i push her beak away gently and say "no" in a quiet but firm tone. Sometimes she responds by backing away and finding another activity, or by going back to preening with a gentle nibble, or.. in some cases she squawks at me and does it again.

If I'm doing it right, then I've figured it just takes time, shes quite stubborn like any other parrot/parakeet I've met.

I would recommend the time out method but after reading through the post your fine...just keep doing what your doing, the bird will learn and adjust to the phone sound. If you think it's an issue just search for time out method.
