Green cheek conure diet question.

@Rio Mom : Thanks! We think so :) Not sure which is ours just yet. When they're ready to go home, we're going to drive up (It's only a 3.5 hour drive!) and play with them both. Hopefully one of them "chooses" us!

@Echo : Any help is much appreciated! These forums are great for that! And regarding toys, your absolutely right! We just spend nearly 400$ in toys, perches, climbing ropes, etc so hopefully he will like something! We also got a fantastic cage! 32" long X 23" deep X 40" interior height, with 1/2" bar spacing :) Hope that's big enough for the little guy.
My only concern is the zupreem fruit blend because of the dyes. I've read on here that they can color their poop, thus disguising potential problems. Also, I've been reading up on vaccinations. What type of vaccinations are needed when we first bring him home?

Yes the Fruitblend can color the poop.....

I always recommend to test for Polyoma, psittacosis, Pacheco's and PBFD.

As far as vaccination, the one I know of is for Polyoma but if your bird tests negative for polyoma, chances are that he won't get it as it is a nestlings disease. Once the bird is feathered(and still alive) the chances of contracting it are rare.

PS : A good avian vet will recommend to test for Psittacosis (transmittable to humans) and PBFD (deadly for parrots).
