1 Yellow Sided Green Cheek Conure: Cody <3
I had a little extra time today now that my final exams are wrapping up so I made a green cheek care video. :) I noticed that there weren't really any on youtube, so I decided to put one up. I realize that the care for green cheek conures is pretty close to that of other parrots, but certain things like their nippiness and noise levels are specific to green cheeks so I figured I'd make a gc specific video. Let me know what you think! :) I didn't realize until I watched it that Cody was flipping (one of his tricks) through the whole thing, lol. He really wanted that carrot! :p

Thanks! :) I'm not sure if it'll get many views, but figured I'd get one out there! And Cody was sooo good for it too! :D I love my boy!

And I didn't know your name was Brittany, cool. :) Mine's just spelled a little differently (Brittney). I just know most of you guys by your usernames, lol.

I really enjoyed watching it! Thanks for sharing and great job!!

Thanks! :)

I just realized I forgot to mention dairy under the "no-no" food items, as well as other hazardous things such as air fresheners, scented candles, teflon, etc. I may make another video about the hazards to parrots in general. Not sure why that slipped my mind.

Good work on the video. I have had a green cheek for almost a year and he's been great.

You did a good job explaining the noise level, and included some good info on diet. I'm working on a website about Cockatiels and Conures (http://www.CockatielsandConures.com) - if you have the time to check it out I'd be happy to hear any comments or suggestions you may have.

Thank you Justin! :)

I took a look at your site. It looks VERY nice btw (i love the pics up top)! The only thing I see concerning is your food information. I looked at the recommended foods and while I'm not positive on the Kaytee Exact (though I know Kaytee doesn't have the best reputation for being healthy for all other animals..), I know that the treats you have listed aren't recommended. They are extremely high in sugar, way too big (unless you would only give it in moderation), and it's just suggested that you give them homemade healthier treats like birdbread.

I also noticed in your feeding section you mention bean mixes. Bean mixes are good but they are dangerous if you don't prepare them! You may want to research how to prepare bean mixes (soaking and boiling) and add that to your site. I also see you briefly mention fruit, and no mention of vegetables at all. It should definitely be stressed how important those two things are! Fresh ones too. :)

If I come across anything else I'll send you a PM, but from what I've seen, everything else looks good! Great start!
