Green Cheek beak bruise or something else?

Hi everyone! I'm pretty new here so apologies if I got any of this wrong - I've had my Green Cheek, Canderous, for around 2 months now, and a couple of weeks ago I noticed a yellow discoloured dent on his beak (picture attached - it looks like I'm holding him down but he's just getting neck scratches lol), and I was wondering if it was something I should be concerned about or if it was just a bruise?

It doesn't seem to be causing him any pain or discomfort, and he is acting as usual as ever, but as a new worried bird mum, I thought it best to ask
For context, he's very good with eating his food, and getting all his vitamins/veggies/fruit etc, but has almost no interest in his cuttlefish for some reason.

Hello Renobec, welcome to the Forums to you and Canderous - what a great name! Do I detect a Star Wars connection there?

Unfortunately it's difficult to tell for sure what might be going on with his beak. It's good he is eating, and that he isn't showing overt signs of irritation. But I am not an avian health professional and if it was one of mine, I would get it checked out by my vet if only for my own peace of mind. It's always best to err on the side of caution when it comes to a bird's health as they hide illness so very well. There may well be nothing wrong, or what’s wrong may be minor and easily treatable. Hopefully some more members will weigh in with advice for you shortly, but either way, it's a good thing to take your bird in for a wellness check at least annually to give yourself the best chance of nipping any health issues in the bud early. To me looks like a normal beak thst goes through flaking, and has had a cor transfer from rubbing on something

I have him booked in for a checkup around Jan-Feb, so hopefully I can have some peace of mind then, thank you for the advice!

I'm so glad you've got that little cutie booked in for a health check! It's so important to get a relationship going with a good avian vet. Having an annual check means they will build up a clinical record of your birdie's health history which can be crucially important in the event of a sudden health emergency.
