Pineapple conure- Tiago

Last August I brought home my baby girl Pipoca and she wasnt the biggest fan of me.. But she has warmed up to me immensely! She lets me hold her, pet her, and really all the bonding stuff! She gets super excited when i come home and will chase me down when i leave my room for a bit 🥲 Im confident in bringing her outside knowing that she has zero interest in flying away. I did get her wings clipped in the beginning just because I was nervous about her hurting herself when getting used to her new home and myself. Now that shes gotten used to everything, i have no plans of clipping in the future. Ive taught her how to spin and wave, and hoping to teach her to fetch next! She turns 1 year old in the last week of march, going into April :) (breeder doesnt know the exact day she was born because every baby in the batch looked exactly the same haha)

Several years ago i was confident too until a closing car door spooked him and he flew away. Good luck.

Remember birds, clipped or not are genetically engineered to fly. Birds are prey animals. Irregardless of their trust in you, flight is their #1 response. Even clipped they can get out of your reach. A sudden spook, a gust of wind and your friend will be gone. Give serious thought on this part of your plans.

Your parrot WILL fly away one day. 100% certainty. Happened to me, its happened to many members on here. Even a clipped parrot will have enough wing left to fly given a sudden burst of adrenaline.

PLEASE DONT TAKE HER OUTSUDE! I beg you not to! So many Parrot Forum members have lost their beloved green cheeks this way and the grief is so not worth the risk. I grieve each time that happens and I can't handle it.
