I want to post this in rememberance of my sweet little bfa Ziggy.
I posted a few months ago in regards to some odd medical issues my bfa was having and unfortantly now i'm posting in the bereavement thread.
My little girl past away last Friday at midnight in the vets office. After a few months of getting xrays and blood test it was determined that the mass inside of her needed to come out. I took her to the vet on Wednesday and she had her surgery at 1:00 on Friday afternoon. When the vet made the incision he called me to let me know what he found and asked me what i wanted to do. The "mass" ended up being her spleen. It was so large it took up half of her abdomen and was very discolored. The vet said she would pass away if we didn't remove it but, could pass away if he did remove it as there could be blood loss etc. Well, she made it through the surgery fine and seemed to be doing ok until about 5:00. The vet called me and said she was getting very weak. I got the call i dreaded at 9AM on Saturday that she had passed away. The vet had stayed with her until she past and he held her as she passed. Right now we think that she had cancer or possibly psittacosis. I am still waiting on the results.
I am beyond devestated as I have lost my best friend. She was the sweetest bird i've ever seen. She had such a happy go lucky personality, she loved music and just being around her family. I'm hoping that someday this pain might go away but, I know i will always remember and love her. I only had her for 9 months but, this was the strongest bond i've ever had with an animal. I hope she is now in birdy heaven.
