Good thoughts,please

Oh no!!!! I am very sorry for your loss! :(

Sonja, I'm so very sorry :( Life can be so painful and so unfair at times. I'm sure you gave Murphy an enriched, happy life during his time with you and I'm sure he loved you very much and appreciated all you did for him. My heart is aching for you :(

Murphy was thankful for you, you gave him 40 years of love affection and protection. Some birds are never able to get that . He's in good hands now, maybe you and him will meet again at rainbow bridge. I advise you to get another macaw to share your life with , Murphy wouldn't want you to be sad forever. My thoughts and wishes go out to you.

Don't forget to get another macaw. When your ready

Thank you everyone. It helps to know that people understand he wasn't "just a bird".

Birdlover---I didn't have Murphy 40 years---he was given up to me a couple years ago when his former owner redecorated. I was told he was 40. But, the vet thought it was possible he was much older.

I do have other macaws now, but not anther B&G. I'm sure another one will come my way. I know some people, after the pain of losing a pet, never want another one so they don't experience that pain again. But, I am the opposite. I want another one to bring the love, fun, and companionship that was lost. And, I can also provide a home for another one who needs someplace to go. So, I'm sure another will be along when the time is right. I just hope he likes to dance like Murphy did!

If anyone you know has the "he was just a bird" attitude, I think you should respond with: "he wasn't just a bird, he was Murphy!"

I find your statement "I just hope he likes to dance like Murphy did" so heartwrenching, Sonja... I'm sure you will find another B&G in time, but I feel horribly sad for your loss of Murphy :'[ *hugs*

Akkk I just read this thread and teared up, I am SO sorry for your loss Sonja!

Murphy had a great life with you; lots of *hug*s to you, we are all here for you.

I am so sorry. You were so blessed to have found each other to share your life the last few years.
Hugs
Laura

I'm so sorry for your loss. It sounds like you did the best you could for him.

Puck passed away several months and I still cry (sometimes a lot) because I miss him so much. I wasn't able to be with him at the moment he passed because he'd spent the night at the hospital. I'm glad you were able to make him comfortable during his last moments. He knew you loved him.
