A cockatiel, a bourke, and three budgies
This is what my birds have for breakfast. Starting today my birds will have a fruit and some veggies for their breakfast. Each week I'll put a different fruit in the veggies mix. The veggies mix is, broccoli and carrots and lettuce (which will be replaced with spinach leaves this weekend) and this weeks fruit is kiwi (next week is Apple). I sprinkle some sprouted seeds on the fresh food to make it a little more tempting.
Is this a good breakfast for my birds?
I'm also going to switch their afternoon feeding to pellets and give them some seed before bed.
Good diet or what?

Hey there!! Fresh foods are great for birds, especially if you can find fruits and veggies that they absolutely LOVE! I'm not a huge expert when it comes to preparing chop for birds but yours sounds pretty good, pretty basic. You can always add more veggies for more variety and flavor, like peppers, kale, squash, radish, etc. As time goes on, you can add beans (usually soaked overnight and cooked) and grains like quinoa and whole grain/veggie pasta and rice. Lots of awesome recipes for chop on here. Carrots, broccoli and lettuce is a good place to start, you can build from there and add more as time goes on.

Variety is always good, because birds can get bored if they are fed the same fruits and veggies all the time, so you're right to switch it up. If anything I'd say add even more veggies with their breakfast. I'm sure some people would recommend limiting the seeds to just a couple days a week, but my birds enjoy some seeds daily as well so it is really up to you. Good luck!

Here's a couple links to some chop recipes...
