I was going to reorder some Goldenfeast fruit/nut blends that my birds love so I popped into mysafebirdstore.com and clicked the link. This is the message they posted: "GOLDENFEAST BIRD FOOD
As a result of recent unfavorable changes on the part of Goldenfeast Foods, we are electing to discontinue this food line. As our current stock depletes, we will be removing it from our site."

What is going on? My birds loved that food and it looked to be great quality. What happened, does anyone know? I'm upset about this, my bigger parrots adored Carribean Bounty and I was thinking of trying the golden'obles.

I have to say there was a couple mixes that were going down in quality for some odd reason (smaller pieces, more seed, more peanuts).

Both mysafebirdstore and mybirdstore have lines that mimic what goldenfeast created. So far after trying both I like mybirdstore.com more than mysafe mixes. Higgins I believe it is also has a nut mix and a fruit mix I like or it could be Hagens I can never remember until I'm looking at them online.

What I heard was that mysafebirdstore.com has chosen not to stock & sell Goldenfeast anymore because they wanted to sell it in pre-packaged and bulk by the pound like they have been doing, and Goldenfeast wanted them to stop selling in bulk. Something about not being able to control the quality and ingredients if packages were opened and foods were being sold by the pound. Mysafebirdstore.com decided if they couldn't sell it the way they had been that they just wouldn't sell it at all.

I think you can order direct from Goldenfeast on their website? can't you? I haven't tried, but Zilla does like some of their foods so I was hoping when she runs out???

I was told the same as Amanda by MSBS. My little birds eat Goldenfeast and love it so I just order it on Amazon now. What they eat (Petite Hookbill) is available there and on Prime it is about the same price as the Goldenfeast site with shipping. I really did prefer to buy it in bulk by the pound, but I understand the concern Goldenfeast had there. MSBS has some new mixes that are similar in ingredients to Goldenfeast, so I ordered two small bulk ones to try on my birds. If they like it, I will switch them to it.

Ok that makes me feel better. I like goldenfeast and my macaw especially goes absolutely crazy when I pour it in her bowl. Eye pins wildly, hollers excitedly every single time-like it never gets old. That alone makes me want to keep it around. I never saw a peanut in the ones I bought, the bags and adverts always said completely peanut free. Which blends contained them? I'll steer clear of them.
