I'm going to meet a baby sun conure this afternoon, whom I might buy! It depends if I like him or not, which I most likely will :). The breeder has been saying only good things about him (or her) and he's driving about 40-some minutes to meet me in the middle somewhere. He's pretty confident I'll love him. He's the one on the left

I originally liked more orangey sun conures and he looked like he was going to very yellow, and as some of you may know I posted a thread asking if anyone could predict his color, but in the end I simply asked the breeder for a picture of the parents and this is what they look like:

I think they're absolutely perfect!! They're not too orange or too yellow, and they're really the prettiest suns I've ever seen :D. Makes me all the more excited to meet my new baby! And to top it all off, he's selling him for about $100 less than most breeders in my area. That only means more money to be spent on spoiling him, and other necessities such as a DNA test. I'll just do the pelvic bone test for now (worked for me before) but he's only 10 weeks old so a lot could change. Then you guys might have to help me choose a name :). This is my list so far:

Boy:
Logan
Reno
Dallas (yes, I like city names lol)
Tampico

Unisex:
Soleil
Mocha

Girl:
Pepper
Indy
Chiqui

Other name suggestions welcome! I'm so excited for this afternoon :D

The baby is home!!!!! I felt her pelvic bone and I think she's a girl :). In the near future I might get an actual DNA test to find out for sure, but I have a feeling she's a girl so we decided on the name Indy!! Here are some pictures:

She's 11 weeks old and she has a little bald spot on her head. Will it grow over? There's a little section where it looks like there aren't pores, but maybe they just look small because there aren't feathers pushing through yet? The breeder said she started going through a molt, but I didn't know they molted at 10-11 weeks. She does have a LOT of pinnies.

Sorry, I know the quality is bad. I'll take some much clearer pictures when I find my camera. I'm using my iPod right now and there's no macro option.

Congrats, baby birds are so cute! My Loco loves to go for drives and look out the windows too!

The bald spots will certianly grow over. My GCC is going through his frist BIG moult at the moment and he's loosing soooo many feathers, big flight one, tail feathers and lots of downy feathers too so trust me when I say they will grow a lot of them, quicker than you'd expect. From my experience they seem to grow in bursts.

Oh good, I was getting a little worried! I never had a bird this young before, all my other birds were rehomes or budgies from the pet store :p. They do look like they're growing in bursts! On only one side of her belly, she has a ton of pinnies :D. The rest are all fluffy lol. She's so cute! She's having a lot of fun burrowing through my covers as I sit in bed with my laptop.

Indy is very cute! Congratulations :) I cannot wait to bring Max home this weekend :)

So cute! Lucy has lots of pins too. all around her neck and head, she's rather nippy when we touch them a certain way that she doesn't like. Enjoy your beautiful conure!

She is a doll......how could you not love that face.....

How about the name Trixy or Randi,,,,Randi could go either way...you could spell it with a "y" if it turns out to be a boy...LOL

Thanks! :D Indy does really like it when I preen her pinnies either, but she puts up with it most of the time and gets all fluffy :). Hopefully she'll make friends with my other birds when she meets them. She's still in quarantine for now. I'm sure it would feel a lot better if a bird preened her pinnies than a person :p.

Thank you!! We decided on the name Indy though, we thought she looked like an Indy :p. I just wish I could find my camera. It's probably floating around in my room somewhere.. I'll post tons of pictures once I find it!
