Going on vacation

Ive been feeling really worried about leaving my GCC Lolli at home. i leave for 3 weeks vacation in 2 weeks!!! My kids and husband will be home but they don't interact with Lolli the way I do. (they can't deal with the biting) I spend a lot of time with him because i'm home all the time, we do everything together and we have a routine. Will this cause a problem with his attitude towards me? Ive heard birds can get very aggressive when you return? I think he's stared to have his first molt too.
Does anyone have advice or have had the same experience? I feel sick at the thought of leaving him.

I dunno about such a long time, but my gcc Parry hated my husband and I was also worried to leave him when I went to Minneapolis for little over a week. When I came back they were the best buddies, and Parry was very happy to see me as well. So maybe it's a good chance for your hubby and kids to bond with the bird.

Often, when a bird's favorite person is not available, they will accept the next best thing and even have been known to change their favorites on occasion.....

I think Parry will weather your vacation well, as he did the last time you left him in hubby's care.....have fun.....

I excitedly came home to see Lolli after my vacation and went to give him a kiss. He bit my lip so hard it bled then he ran after me with his beak open!!! He bit me so hard I wanted to cry (think i did) it took 3 days for him to like me again. Weco you were correct he bonded really good with my husband! you should have seen them watching TV together
I was so Jealous. Thank god we are best buds again

Well, if you ran to him to give a kiss it wasn't the best idea - they need a bit time for adapt again. He'll be fine, just give him a few more days. After my summer leave awhile ago Parry actually loves us both, and that makes me very happy.
