Gilbert Oliver, Blue Crown Conure; Georgie, Sun Conure (2/8/01-8/8/12) RIP little girl; Percy, budgie 1993-1999. RIP Pepito-spanish timbrado canary
Gil came with me on Tuesday to the office for the day. He had so much fun that yesterday when I was leaving for work, he was annoyed (he was getting out of the cage when I was saying goodbye and when I said 'no' he motioned in a pretend bite, definitely letting me know what he thought of my decision!) So, he's back. :)
On Tuesday I took him to the Chinese place by the office to pick up lunch and then we had a picnic lunch. I let him taste a spring roll, just a nibble, and some rice and sesame seeds (I had sesame tofu). Today I brought beans for us to share at lunch.
He sits and greets taxpayers....so funny. First woman who came in on Tuesday had him scream HELLO about 20 times as she wrote her check.

It's nice that they let you do that with him...

I have several that always want to come, particularly that big red bird.

Also here, it's very much 'farm country'. Just had someone come to pay and he was so happy 'his bird' is here to visit. He was telling me about his daughter's pet chickens and how she dresses them in the winter and they sit on her lap. The residents here are pretty laid back and don't mind seeing a bird standing on my monitor at all.

Gilbert looks like he loves everything about his new job!!! I love the spring roll photo, lunch with Mom must be a special part of the workday.

Everyone who comes in the office must love having a visit with gilbert! It says a lot about the people you work with when your parrot is welcome.

Oh what sweet pictures of THE most handsome Gilbert, Patti!! :smile015: I admit, even I'd be happy to come and pay my taxes if our place had such an extra special 'greeter'. :D

Most importantly, I'm so happy to hear he's 'back'. :)

Yup, that picture with Gil and the spring roll is hilarious. He looks to have claimed that one. :D

That's just too much, I love it! I admit, Ive been thinking how when I ultimately move on to a new job, it'd be wonderful if it was at a place where I could take Parker with me. So jealous!

Great pictures! I'm so glad you are able to bring Gilbert with you to work. I think it makes the day that much happier for both of you!

Wow! I love the picture and all the things you do with your bird. Isn't it nice that their are people out there like you!

It's amazing how many places you get to take Gilbert! And he's obviously so happy and comfortable doing so! You're doing such an amazing job getting him out there and used to traveling all about.

Now that I've been able to get the harness onto Maya, I'm hoping to take her around a lot more, too. (Still working on Jolly, alas.)

I have mentioned my first bird, Percy, a little blue budgie I got when I was about 21 and knew NOTHING about birds. He was amazing, really well trained and talkative (none of which I realized they could do--he just bonded with me and started talking and coming when called, etc. I was amazed.) I always wanted another relationship like I had with my Percy. Georgie wasn't easygoing like that (and maybe I didn't understand her enough to get her totally comfortable). Gil has always shown an openness to new adventures with me! :) I seriously hope to have him until I am old!!! I'm investing in our future. [emoji4]

Gil had so much fun! Really sweet of you to take him to work : ) Moch loves tap-dancing on the keyboard, but accomplishes nothing productive.

Gilbert looks so happy! It is so cool that you can bring him with you to work, and I bet he makes everyone smile.
