So my wonderful girlfriend was tired of watching me sulk at the loss of Peanut and Zim. She found this beautiful black capped conure needing a new home and she got her/him for me. She's adjusting very well and loves spending time with us already!

Her name is Lola but we have two little girls named Luna and Lilah so I'm afraid we are gonna have to change Lola's, I actually think it's a boy anyways... I hate to rename but I think it's for the best in the long run. I'm thinking Ceasar? Thoughts?

He/she talks, says "what's your name" "pretty bird" and such.

That bird is very cute! Caesar is nice.

I can't help but notice you use a rope perch. I used to have them in my sun conure's cage but it was very hard to keep clean (needs washing every 2 days) so I gave it up. These things attract so much dirt and bacteria, I've read owners report of foot sores (internet, anecdotal).

Best of luck with your new pal. May you have many wonderful years together.

Yea I moved all my rope perches but that one to a place I can supervise them, he chews the crap out of it and yes it gets dirty. I am aware that there are dangers associated with these types of perches and I think I'll eventually get rid of it, It's such a great perch though I wish they weren't so controversal.

When I took Bumble in for her initial visit, she said if I wanted to put a rope perch in the cage, I should cover it with vet tape so toes couldn't get caught.

yea I actually ended up taking it out of his cage last night but if vet tape will keep it safe I'll use it! Thanks for the advice!
