Getting this lovely aviary

From the looks of it and the description. That wire wont be able to stand against a macaw!!! Plus there's plenty of wood for your macaw to get to. Unless your getting this for your alexandrine?

Great site mike but do they deliver to uk?? P

I think it's great where you can customize a aviary to your specification!!! :)

I have been looking into building our own. at home depot, they have materials that will cost only maybe 300 bucks from what we figured so far. just working on how to make the frame for the top and bottom. :) cant wait to build it for my lil guy. it should be just in time for summer and him to enjoy :)

Are you looking at the chain link stuff??? Those metals either rust or bad for birds period. Especially for a macaw who chews on everything....

if your talkin to me :) no chain link. not sure what its exactly called but its a big roll of heavy duty coated metal. looks like the stuff used on the outdoor aviary website just heavier duty. The guy at home depot suggested it specifically for an aviary. they have 6 ft tall rolls and smaller ones for the roofing if needed.:red1:

The square stuff???

yes it is square. they have 2 kinds, one coated with a green rubber type coating which I dont think would be a good idea. its been so nice out here, I am hoping to get started on it next pay day :)

Those are like chicken wire, they will rust!!!!! I've used them before for my rabbits and they all rusted!

really? the guy said this is whats used normally for bird aviaries. that blows. my husband may hook up a barter at our local bird shop. computer work for possibly an aviary. we will see what turns out :)

Yes that is what they used on aviaries but they will rust cause that's what I used before....

i dont want to go crazy for it to only rust so I will keep my hopes up for the true aviary unless you have any ideas that would work and be cost effective. it would be fun to build it ourselves and customize it.
