Hi all, when I put Richard on his playstand he just stares at me, flaps his wings and SCREAMS! He will eat a few special play stand treats (only gets millet on his play stand) but then will just scream and scream. He doesn't seem to even know what to do with toys and I'm not sure if he has ever spent time on a play stand before.
What can I do to get him used to it? It is like 2 feet from my chair where I sit and work on my laptop.

Keep it near his cage when he's in it. Keep it in every room he goes in, just make it a part of life. Put his favorite treats on it. Act like your playing with it. Roll some jingle balls around. He will get used to it, it could take a week, a month, they generally catch on. Mine took a few weeks to get used to his. It'll happen on his own time. :)

My cockatoo was freaked out by his also. But he got over it once I added his food to the dish that's attached. And I quickly learned that new toys added to his stand or cage must be done when he is not around.
