Omg it’s been only less than a year (about 9 months) and my umbrella cockatoo is too good to me. Sometimes I mess up and realize it, but he forgives most of those mistakes and continues to love unconditionally. I’ve never bonded with an animal this closely before. Not saying anything or something specific happened, just felt like giving an update/ appreciation post to my Cody. And it helps me to relieve some of my cooped up emotions. He’s currently preening my hair rn as I’m typing this out. This post is all over the place. But oh well. When I first got Cody, I thought it was take at least a year to bond with him and such, but I guess I just didn’t expect a close bond within our first three months of being around each other. It’s amazing. No complaints there. Now for puberty, although he already has shown some signs that he is already in the midst of puberty. But nonetheless, he is a sweetheart and loves toys, foraging, cuddles, having fun and just playing around. Ugh. Such a sweet soul.

Isn’t it amazing how two species that could not be more physically different can be so emotionally aligned?! They have such pure, bright souls….love , love, love our sweet birbies!

Your post of durable bond with Cody remarkable given Umbrella's penchant for skittishness and dubious honor of frequent re-homing!!
