I have a GCC hen sitting on 5 eggs she laid they are not fertile. My lovebird pair are very young and lay fertile eggs but after about 2 weeks she stops caring for them. So I have switched their 3 eggs for my conures eggs and my conure is incubating them. She is a very good mother but will she know the babies arent hers and reject or kill the baby lovebirds? :rainbow1:

I once tried to foster Budgie eggs under bourkes, and Bourkes eggs under budgies (swapped half and half), and did not work at all
I doubt the GCC will rear it, but there is always a possibility, but I do not think it was the nest idea to start fostering without the knowledge

I really hope you can handrear, because if worst comes to worse that gonna have to be the outcome
Cheers

I have handraised lovebirds before but nothing under the age of 1 week old.......so she has a web cam on her and I can get the babies out if they hatch.....i just knew if they stayed with their mom they would for sure never hatch.

Ok, that is good to hear that you can handrear if worse comes to worse
