Gardenias!!! My very favorite, I can smell them just looking at them:)
Thank you!!
Your garden and yard is just stunning.

gardenias??? come and get the one out of my yard!! It's huge, big as a pickup truck and blooms all year long. The jasmine, i'm treating it with roundup, it's taking over the house and ruining the siding.Nice pics of your yard though. The gardenia is over powering, especially year round. Also having a "fire sale" on the fica trees (strangler fig).

I love the smell of gardenias as well! One of my favorite scents. (I actually have a favorite perfume that is gardenia based.) I always heard they were so tricky and difficult to grow? If not, i'm going to have to get some!!

I like the curvy garden beds. I have wanted to do one like that in my yard too!!

Absolutley gorgeous. How do you manage to keep it all watered or do you have underground sprinklers? Pots dry out almost overnight down here in Fla. love your pictures....Alison:)

Hi Alison yes it is hard work to manage watering when the temps rises over 30 C. Thanks you liked my garden.I,l keep posting in future for your enjoyment.I,l post Zinnia pictures after some days when it will be in flowering.

Thank you. I love zinnias. Do you start from seeds yourself or buy transplants? I am not sure what your temp would translate into. where I live the temperature in the summer runs up in the mid to lower 90 to 95 degrees, . sunny and very humid. I also live about one mile, as the crow flies, from the Gulf of Mexico so we get a lot of breezy and downright windy weather which also dries things out really quickly. It looks like your gardens are walled in? which would give you some really nice protected areas to garden in.:)

Yes dear Alison my home is surrounded by 10 ft boundary walls. I start my zinnias from seeds as Zinnia always performed best when planted directly where it has to flower. What i have gained about zinnia it hates root disturbance is,t it.

We used to live in Massachusetts, USA and there I would direct seed a lot of plants ,both flower and vegetable seeds. Down here in Fla the weeds pop up so quick that I don't even try and like I said everything dries out so quick, We have very sandy soil here which makes gardening a lot different than what I was used to. cooler weather, and a real nice deep loamy acid soil that would hold the moisture. Plus the planting seasons are totally opposite. Here you plant and grow in the fall, winter thru spring but it is too hot in the summer. Our other house that we used to live the winter was to cold to grow anything and the growing season was much shorter. It has taken some getting used to:)
